BODINE
SURVIVES MARTINSVILLE AND GAINS IN POINTS
- CONCORD, NC (October 23rd, 2005) – "Survival of the fittest" could have
titled Saturdays Kroger 200 at Martinsville Speedway, as Todd Bodine and
the No. 30 Germain Motor Co. Toyota Tundra Team ended up with a top-10
finish. Bodine started the race in the 17th spot and worked his way up
to a 10th place finish, despite battling handling problems on his No. 30
Germain Motor Co. Tundra all day. Bodine's finish helped to move him up
from fifth place to fourth in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series point's
chase. "The truck was tight in the center of the corner all day" said Bodine.
"Mike Hillman, Jr. tried to fix it all race long, but couldn't seem to
get the truck to handle right. Ending up in the 10 th position with our
Tundra was a good day. We survived Martinsville and gained a spot in points,
although we didn't gain anything on Musgrave or Hornaday. All in all, it
was good day for the No. 30 Germain Motor Co. Toyota Tundra Team." Todd
Bodine and the No. 30 Germain Motor Co. Racing Team will head to Atlanta
Motor Speedway for the EasyCare Vehicle Service Contracts 200 on Saturday,
October 29 th. Qualifying for EasyCare Vehicle Service Contracts 200 will
be on Saturday, October 29th at 11:30 am. The green flag for the EasyCare

#34 Dollar General Short ReCap - Todd
ran mid-pack most of the day, staying on the lead lap for a good part of
it. He got caught up in accident with about seven to go. Looked like while
Leffler and Mike Wallace made contact, Todd was a victim and hit from behind
by the No. 83. Started 23rd, finished 33rd. The #34 did get some decent
TV time throughout the day. Todd
will be in the #34 again for the upcoming DollarGeneral 300 race at Lowe’s

Vegas Race Report - TODD WINS !! Bodine
Battles Back to Beat the Field In Las Vegas - Leaves Las Vegas With First-Place
Prize and 10th Tundra Triumph LAS VEGAS, Nev.
(September 24, 2005) -- Todd Bodine dominated the field and then passed
race-leader Ted Musgrave on the final lap -- in a green-white-checkered
flag finish -- to win this evening's NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS)
race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. A late race caution period extended
the scheduled 146-lap event six additional laps -- leading to the last
lap shoot-out. Bodine dominated the race in his No. 30 Germain Racing Tundra,
leading the field four times for a total of 114 laps, including the final
lap. The win was Bodine's second NCTS win this season and the fourth of
his Craftsman truck Series career. In addition, it was the sixth NCTS victory
for a Tundra this season, and the 10th win for Toyota since joining the
Craftsman Truck Series at the beginning of the 2004 season. "I was pretty
mad at myself for letting Teddy (Musgrave) get past me," said Bodine,
following the race. "I just made a mistake and let him get by. I had a
little bit of a lead, went into Turn 3 and then I got sideways -- and Teddy
ran right by me. He got right behind me, got me loose, and then passed
me. I finished second here last year, and was not going to finish second
again." While running second after the caution flag came out on lap 146,
Bodine was thinking about how he could regain the lead. "I spent that whole
caution period (laps 146-150) thinking of different scenarios, and what
was going to happen," explained Bodine. "I really didn't know what was
going to happen because Teddy was so good. But, when I got behind him my
Tundra would tighten-up enough where I was able to get some grip." On the
final lap, Bodine made his move on the outside of Turn 3 and was able to
cross the finish line .297 seconds ahead of Musgrave. "Teddy just got down
on the inside there in Turn 3 and slipped, and I just drove to the outside
and it stuck," explained Bodine. "Our Tundra was just incredible," said
Bodine, after the event. "The longer it ran -- the stronger it got. It
was an unbelievable truck. Mike Hillman, Sr. (team manager) and Mike Hillman,
Jr. (crew chief) have put together what I think has got to be the best
team in Craftsman Truck Series history. They are awesome."

finish to get back by the 1 truck. Results---Standings-

200 Full Race Report - LAST LAP INCIDENT
ENDS A GOOD POINTS WEEKEND FOR BODINE AT LOUDON - CONCORD, NC (September
19th, 2005) – It was a tough ending for what seemed to be a good weekend
for Todd Bodine and his No. 30 Germain Motor Co. Racing Team. The No. 30
Germain Motor Co. Toyota Tundra rolled off the hauler ready to go, with
a strong first practice run as things got started on Friday. Bodine ran
seventh fastest in the first practice session with a time of 30.015/126.87
mph. Crew chief Mike Hillman, Jr. made a few quick adjustments to the No.
30 Germain Motor co. Tundra before for the teams final practice run of
the day. They improved their time, finishing with the fifth fastest time
of the practice session with a 29.693/128.083 mph. Todd started Saturday’s
Sylvania 200 presented by Lowe’s in the eighth starting spot. It didn’t
take him long to move his way up to the front. By lap-21 he had moved his
No. 30 Germain Motor Co. Tundra into the fourth spot. On lap-40 Todd made
a run on the No. 88 truck of Matt Crafton, passing him on the inside of
turn-one taking the second spot. During the second caution flag, Todd brought
his No. 30 Germain Motor Co. Tundra into the pits on lap-57. The crew made
an air pressure adjustment, changed four tires and added fuel. The pit
stop didn’t go as well as crew chief Mike Hillman, Jr. wanted it to, as
a right front lugnut fell off during the change, costing valuable time.
The front tire changer quickly replaced the lugnut before Todd exited his
pit stall. Todd left pit road falling into the 12th spot when the race
resumed green flag action on lap-60. Todd fought his way back to the sixth
spot by lap-131. On Lap-136 the front shocks of No. 30 Germain Motor Co.
Tundra were starting to go. Todd then shuffled back to the 10th spot. He
again battled his way back to the front. By lap-180, Todd worked his way
up to the fourth spot by passing the No. 6 of Ron Hornaday Jr. When
the yellow flag came out for the ninth time of the race, on lap-194, Todd
was in fourth and needed to conserve fuel to make it to the end. Todd again
fell back to the fifth position after the restart on lap-197. As the laps
were winding down, it looked like Todd would end his day with a top-five
finish. That all changed on the final lap, as the No. 2 Team ASE/Dodge
of Jimmy Spencer slid underneath the No. 30 Germain Motor Co. Tundra. Spencer
came off turn-three, making contact with Todd, causing him to spin out
on the final lap. Todd finished up in the 22nd spot after running in the
top-five for the majority of the race. The Germain Racing Team still remains
in the top-10 in owner’s points. Driver Todd Bodine is currently seventh
in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver point’s chase.
Todd
Bodine - Post Race Quotes:
“It’s
really too bad that our day ended the way it did, because we had one of
the fastest trucks on the track all weekend long. We were a top-five truck,
but Jimmy Spencer got into me. That’s just the way he drives. He can’t
pass you clean, he has to knock you out of the way. And that’s just what
he did, he knocked me out of the way. We had a top-five truck with our
Tundra today. We were having a good point’s day and we got ‘Spencered’.
Jimmy spun out twice trying to pass me. Then, he blamed me for spinning
him out. Last I knew, I was in front of Jimmy. I didn’t know I could spin
him from there. He spun me out plain and simple, taking us out of a great
point’s day. I hate it for the whole Germain Racing Team. They gave me
a great Tundra to drive this weekend. We will have to make up the points
we lost from not finishing in fifth this weekend in Vegas.”

200/Bristol - PIT STRATEGY TAKES BODINE
FROM THIRTY-SECOND TO SECOND - Bodine comes from the back to finish second
at the Bristol Motor Speedway-Bristol, TN (August 25, 2005)-Pit Strategy
aided Todd Bodine to advance from a thirty-second starting position to
a second place finish Wednesday night at the Bristol Motor Speedway in
the O’Reilly 200 presented by Valvoline Maxlife NASCAR Craftsman Truck
Series event. Mike Hillman Jr., the crew chief for the No. 30 Germain Racing
Toyota Tundra, gambled on a pit stop by keeping Bodine out on the track
when the rest of the leaders pitted. This strategy moved the Allman Brothers
Band Toyota Tundra from their current position in the race of 20th to the
second position for the restart on lap 74. The team last came to pit road
on lap 43 for four tires and fuel.
“I
love racing at Bristol,” Todd Bodine said. “We went from thirty-second
to second tonight. We didn’t qualify well but the truck came back to be
better then anticipated. We avoided a few accidents and the pit strategy
really paid off. It’s a gamble to go that long without a stop – we risked
it and it paid off. Mike Hillman Jr., made the right call there -
track position is everything here at Bristol.” At the restart it
was a battle of the Tundra’s - Chad Chaffin held the point position, Bodine
second and Mike Skinner in third. Skinner worked his way around both Bodine
for second and Chaffin for the lead. Bodine made his way around Chaffin
for the second position and was closing in on the leader when caution came
out on lap 188. Skinner clearly took the lead at the restart leaving a
heated battle between Bodine and Jack Sprague for the runner up position.
Bodine was able to hold off Sprague to take the checkered flag with a second
place finish in the main event. “I had my hands full at the restart,” Bodine
said. “Jack (Sprague) got up on my back bumper really making me loose
and I was spinning the tires all the way off of the corner. I did all I
could just to drive the truck straight down the straightaway. He got up
underneath my truck a couple times and cut me some slack. That’s just good
clean racing. If the caution wouldn’t have come out, I think we had a shot
at Mike. We were gaining on him and our truck was getting better where
his was getting worse. I’m happy for Mike - he’s waited a long time for
that win. It was a big win for Bill Davis and for Toyota. We had a great
night -second place – we’ll take it.” Todd Bodine is back in action running
in the NASCAR Busch Series Food City 250 race at the Bristol Motor Speedway
Friday, August 26th at 7:50 p.m. EST. The NASCAR Craftsman Trucks Series
returns to the track for the running of the Truck Series 200 at Richmond
International Raceway Thursday, September 9th. The event will be
broadcast live on the SPEED Channel, MRN and XM-Satellite Radio. Results--

Bodine Takes Toyota to the Top-Toyota Garners First Victory Of The Season
-
Kansas City, Kansas (July 2, 2005)-Todd Bodine, in only his second race
back with Germain Racing, puts the No. 30 Allman Brothers Band Toyota Tundra
in Victory Lane. Bodine started in the 10th position for the running of
the O’Reilly 250 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at the Kansas Motor
Speedway. “The team did a fantastic job today and gave me a great truck,”
Todd Bodine explained. “We made a change right before qualifying
that proved to be the difference today for the Germain Racing Team. It’s
great to be back working with the Germain’s, Mike Hillman and my crew chief
Mike Hillman Jr. The Tundra was awesome on the long runs and we were fast.
I knew I had a truck that could win - I just needed to save for the end.”
Bodine led often throughout the 250 mile event for a total of 81 of the
170 laps. The event ended with a green/white/checkered flag finish
after a late race caution. Bodine on the restart pulled away from the pack
solidifying his dominant performance for his Germain Racing team. Bodine
started to show his dominance during the mid portion of the event when
he and Ron Hornaday separated themselves from the rest of the field.
While racing for the lead Bodine saved the No. 30 Tundra when he became
loose as he raced under Hornaday. He was able to save the truck and regain
the lead a few laps later. “I really enjoyed racing Ron today,” Bodine
said. “Boy, he is a good ole’ racer that really knows how to make
it difficult to get around him on the track. The competition in this Series
is at an all time high and I am just happy to bring home another win for
Germain Racing and the first win of the season for Toyota. I’m looking
forward to going to the bluegrass state and bringing home another victory
in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series next week.” Bodine advanced in the
Series points chase to 14th - a mere 57 points out of the top-10. The win
was his third career Craftsman Truck Series win and his 18th career NASCAR
victory. Bodine hopes to continue his momentum as the Series moves to the
Kentucky Speedway for the running of the Built Ford Tough 225 on Saturday
July 9th under the lights.
