TODD BODINE
No. 66 Blue Light Special Ford
BODINE FIFTH AT WATKINS GLEN
BLUE LIGHT NEEDED GREEN FLAG

Todd Bodine claimed his second top-5 finish of
the 2001 season at home in Watkins Glen this Sunday. Bodine's times around the 2.45 mile
course with his No. 66 Blue Light Special Ford were among the fastest all day long, as he
maintained a top-10 position throughout the day and even put the Blue Light out front for
two laps.
The No. 66 had a slightly loose condition at
the start of the race and Bodine requested that some grip be added to the front of his
Blue Light machine. His crew was able to make the adjustments during a caution early on
and kept the Kmart Special machine in contention.
In spite of slow cars and two late cautions,
Bodine and his crew secured a solid fifth place finish and plan to continue on a steady
course for the remainder of the 2001 season.
" I needed green flags at the end. I
didn't need the cautions and all of those caution laps. Our car was really good. We were
faster than the leader most of the day, but we just didn't have track position. If we
could have had 20 green flag laps atthe end, I probably could have got up to second or
third at least, but we had agood day.

year. We've had some bad races, but we've run really well most of the time, we just never
got the finishes to go with it. For some reason, something would bite us every week. But,
today, we put it all together and everything went right. This is what we should be doing
every week," Bodine said of his top-5 finish.
