 New
Hampshire 300 -New Hampshire International Speedway November 23, 2001 -
Season Finale' RACE IN BRIEF

Robby Gordon bumped Jeff
Gordon to take the lead on Lap 285 and went on to win Friday's New Hampshire 300. The
victory was R. Gordon's first career NASCAR Winston Cup win in 61 starts as he also became
the 19th different winner of the season.
R. Gordon and several others
passed J. Gordon with 16 laps remaining after the tap to the bumper of the Dupont machine.
However, J. Gordon manuevered his way back through the field and payed R. Gordon and his
No. 31 machine back. That move cost him to lose a lap when NASCAR issued black flag
penalty to him and held his No. 24 Chevrolet. That put this year's Winston Cup Champion
15th when the checkered flag dropped.
TODD BODINE
NO. 66 BLUE LIGHT SPECIAL FORD

Todd Bodine ends the season
with a 31st place finish on Friday in the New Hampshire 300 after
struggling with a tight handling car and blistering tires throughout the entire event.
Bodine's times, once again,
rivaled those of the leaders most of 300 circuts on the one-mile oval. However, after the
Blue Light lost several laps when the a caution came out after pitting under a green-flag
pit-stop the No. 66 Ford was never able to recover.
The No. 66 Blue Light
Special captured six top-five and 11 top-10, starts -- including three pole-positions
(Chicago, Pocono and Martinsville) -- in 2001.
