 POP
SECRET 500
Rockingham, North Carolina
Sunday, November 5, 2001 Race in Brief

Joe Nemecheck, driver of the No. 33 Oakwood
Homes machine, stepped up to win the 393 Lap event on Sunday, November 5. Nemecheck led
over half of the circuts on the one-mile oval in Rockinham, North Carolina. The win is
Nemecheck's second career victory and first of the 2001 season.
TODD BODINE
No. 66 Kmart Blue Light Special
Todd Bodine secured a position in the Pop
Secret 400 by taking the last provisional. Despite finishing 41st and parking the car
early, the team was able to take a negative situation and turn it into a valuable learning
experience.
Knowing that the Blue Light Machine was not up
to par from the time they unloaded it from the truck, the team used the race as a testing
session.
Bodine and his No. 66 team took their time in
the three hour, 393 lap event. They brought the Blue Light car into the garage a few times
to make significant adjustments, go back out onto the track and evaluate how the changes
worked. The testing will prove beneficial in the remaining races this season and for next
season as well.
